CHURCH HILL — Mass murderers, super heroes, witches, movie monsters and various other characters have returned, loitering at the end of a Church Hill cul-de-sac.
Every year Steve Allison and family decorate the cul-de-sac in front of their home at the end of White Tail Road with a menagerie of mannequins dressed for Halloween.
This year they’ve got about 50 including some of their regulars, such as supernatural psycho-killers Freddy, Jason and Michael Myers; Edward Scissorhands and girlfriend; Children of the Corn; Red Riding Hood and the wolf; Dracula, Frankenstein and random ghouls; the new Ghostbusters; Jack, Sally and Zero from “The Nightmare Before Christmas;” Chucky and Bride of Chucky; and a potpourri of witches including the trio from “Hocus Pocus” fame.”
Some new additions to the cul-de-sac this year are The Adams Family and Beetlejuice with friends including the shrunken head safari guy.
At night, Allison turns on the spooky lights and fog machine, and his little cul-de-sac becomes one of the most traveled residential roadways in Church Hill.
It’s also a very popular trick-or-treat location on Halloween night. But it’s not east to find if you don’t know your away around Church Hill.
Coming from Kingsport on 11-W, turn right on Silver Lake Road, and then left on East Main Boulevard. Travel west and turn right at the railroad underpass. After passing under the tracks, turn left on Deerfield Circle Road.
From there turn left on Westfield Avenue and then right on White Tail Road, which you take all the way to the end.
Every Halloween day, Allison reveals a new addition. It’s a surprise, so you'll have to stop by his cul-de-sac Thursday to find out what it is.
