In the upper half of the seventh, the Longhorns broke a 2-2 tie when Josh Tierney drove home Shane Greer with a base hit.
Everett Hunt led off the Patriots’ final at-bat with a single and scored one batter later when Eli Milhorn reached second base on an infield error. From there Casaday lined an 0-2 pitch to right field, plating Milhorn.
Hunt crafted a 2-for-3 effort with a sacrifice for the Patriots, who got a 2-for-4 showing from Casaday.
Tierney finished 2-for-4.
Casaday pitched 6 2/3 innings, yielding just one earned run. He allowed five hits, struck out eight and walked six before Seth Chafin, who got the win, induced the final out.
Greer kept the Patriots off the scoreboard through the first four innings. After yielding two runs on five hits and totaling six Ks against six walks in a 5 2/3-inning no-decision, he gave way to Ben Howard.
Sullivan South 9, Sullivan Central 2
KINGSPORT — Austin Monds rapped out three doubles and Chase Bowery had three hits, one a double, to lead the Rebels to the Three Rivers victory over the Cougars.
Marcus Williams and Gavin Parker ended with two hits, and Austin Hale belted a home run.
Cory Williams picked up the win.
Science Hill 6, Tennessee High 5, 9 innings
JOHNSON CITY — Kolten Keller had a walk-off single to score David Bryant in the ninth inning and lift the Hilltoppers over the Vikings.
Ben Grable and Chance Hall launched solo home runs in the Science Hill win. Brandon Feathers got the start and struck out 10 in 5 2/3 innings before giving way to Jack Emling, who picked up the win.
Down 5-0 entering the sixth inning, Tennessee High tied the game with two-run singles by Nick Dobbins and Ryan Gibson.
Davis Hall threw eight innings for the Vikings before Dobbins took over in the ninth and suffered the loss.
Daniel Boone 6, David Crockett 3
JONESBOROUGH — Eric Rigsby went 3-for-3, including an RBI triple, and had a sacrifice fly to lead the Trailblazers to the Big 7 Conference series sweep.
Hunter Adams went 5 2/3 innings and allowed three earned runs on four hits, striking out a half-dozen, to earn the win for Daniel Boone (9-5, 5-3). Cade Elliott came on in relief and earned the save.
Tanner Treadway struck out eight over his six innings but took the loss for David Crockett (1-13, 0-8). The left-hander gave up five runs on a dozen hits.
Union 13, Ridgeview 2
CLINTWOOD — Braxton Zirkle went 1-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs scored in the Bears’ Mountain 7 District victory over the Wolfpack.
The game featured a combined 21 total walks and only eight hits.
Evan Hall got the win for Union, striking out four batters and not allowing a hit through 2 2/3 innings of work.
The Wolfpack got two hits apiece from Mason Jones and McKenzie Sproles.
Eastside 26, Rye Cove 1
CLINCHPORT — The Spartans needed just five innings to dispatch the Eagles (3-3, 1-1) in a Cumberland District matchup.
Austin Rittenberry picked up the win for Eastside (4-1, 1-0) in three innings of work, striking out six batters.
Cole Harness was 5-for-5 — all of his hits singles — and finished with three RBIs for the Spartans.
Six Eastside batters had multiple hits, including Drew Richards, Blake Rhoten, Nick Livingston and Seth Boles.
University High 15, Cloudland 0
ROAN MOUNTAIN — One day after University High’s Cas Blevins fired a five-inning perfect game against Cloudland, Carter Pollock, Essau Byrd and A.J. Simerly combined on a five-inning no-hitter for the Bucs.
Pollock and Simerly sandwiched two innings apiece around Byrd’s handling of the third frame. The three pitchers combined for six strikeouts against three walks.
UH banged out 11 hits, with Hunter Seehorn (2 doubles), Jakob Hare (double, 2 runs, 2 stolen bases) and Jake Oligny (2 runs, 2 stolen bases) all going 2-for-3. Seehorn and Oligny each supplied three RBIs.
Pollock had a double and scored two times. Simerly recorded three of the Bucs’ 10 stolen bases.
University High grabbed a 6-0 lead in the top of the first.
Elizabethton 13, Happy Valley 3
ELIZABETHON — Corey Russell had three hits and four RBIs to lift the Cyclones over the Warriors.
Evan Perkins drove in three runs, and Ethan Eggleston had three hits and two RBIs.
Lawson Wagner earned the win and Kevin Whitaker was tagged with the loss. Bryce Carter pitched in relief for Happy Valley.
David Crockett 10, Tennessee High 4
BRISTOL, Tenn. — Riley Hope went 4-for-5 with five RBIs, Reagan Miller ripped two home runs in a 3-for-4 day and the Lady Pioneers piled up 20 hits.
Lenzie Jenkins and Kat Pfeifer both closed at 3-for-5 — Jenkins also had two runs — and seven Crockett players contributed multiple hits. Adding two hits apiece were Sydney Fox (3 runs), Mackenzie Baldwin (2 runs) and Kara Weems.
Miller drove in four runs and scored twice, and Hope accounted for a home run and a double. Baldwin banged out a pair of two- baggers plus had a sacrifice.
Weems tallied six strikeouts in seven innings of pitching work. All four runs scored against her were unearned.
Anna Craddock and Lakelyn Ziegler led the Lady Vikings by each going 2-for-3. Elizabeth Ray knocked in two runs.
Cloudland 12, Sullivan North 2
ROAN MOUNTAIN — Kenzie Birchfield clubbed a three-run home run, Rein Strickland blasted a two- run shot and the Lady Highlanders dusted off the Lady Raiders in six innings.
Birchfield went the distance in the circle, surrendering only two hits and one earned run. She also recorded five strikeouts.
Leah Birchfield turned in a perfect 4-for-4 performance for the Lady Highlanders. Gracie Freeman went 3-for-4.
Strickland’s long ball was part of a five-run Cloudland fourth.
Tennessee High 4, David Crockett 1
JONESBOROUGH — Aiden Moore produced all four Tennessee High goals, scoring twice in each half.
For the host Pioneers, Dray Gentry found the back of the opposing net. His goal was assisted by Gio Ortiz.
Crockett will remain at home for its next match, taking on Volunteer on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Lee 2, Gate City 1
GATE CITY — Caleb Haynes recorded a penalty kick goal and an assist for the Generals.
Andrew Pendleton scored to tie the game, but Sam Pennington pushed through the game-winner for Lee.

GATE CITY — Callie McMurray scored on a Maddie Carter assist to lift the Lady Blue Devils.
