Browder taking athletic talents to Christ School

From staff reports • Apr 17, 2019 at 3:11 AM

KINGSPORT — Multisport athlete Charlie Browder announced Monday on Twitter that he will be leaving Dobyns-Bennett to attend Christ School in Asheville, N.C.

Browder, a 6-foot-7 junior post, was an All-Northeast Tennessee basketball team selection after averaging 13 points and 9.6 rebounds per game last season. He also was the starting tight end on the Tribe football team.

In an image posted under “Can’t wait to see what the future holds!” Browder tweeted:

“First of all I want to thank Dobyns Bennett and the city of Kingsport for all of their support the past 3 years. I’ve loved every second I’ve spent as an Indian. But as an opportunity came for me to reclassify to the class of 2021, I realized it was too good to pass up. I know most people already know, but I will be attending Christ School in the fall to continue both my football and basketball careers. Thank you to Kingsport and Dobyns Bennett for everything. Roll Tribe and Go Greenies.”
